Storage Management Controller - SMC

Control and supervision unit for batteries and power converters in small, medium-sized and large storage plants. The Storage Management Controller (SMC) serves as a relay device between Santerno power converters, the battery-integrated Battery Management System (BMS) and the high-level Energy Management System (EMS).

The product processes the setpoints issued by the EMS and controls the power converters accordingly within the limits set by the BMS. The product constantly ensures both external constraints and energy storage system’s internal conditions are taken into account, thus maximizing the system’s operating life and efficiency.

Designed for flexibility, the SMC may be configured to also gather information about other system components, such as alarm conditions. Hence, faults affecting the air conditioning system, the fire suppression system, the UPS or any other critical components may be both processed for optimal performance and signaled to higher-level control systems.
